Dear all,
In the Sunday Times of India (May 31, Bangalore edition, page 4), there
was an article about a Commissioner for Public Instruction who
apparently knows about Linux and requires computer teachers in
government high schools to be trained in its usage. Is anyone in touch
with Mr. Kumar G. Naik? Would anyone be able to shed more light on the
role and duties of a CPI?

Lightning visits keep schools on their toes

Bangalore: It’s 9 am on a bright Saturday. Commissioner for Public
Instruction Kumar G Naik is at the government high school in
Byatarayanapura. The headmaster is showing him around the school.
The commissioner goes over to the computer teacher and finds she is not
trained in Linux. He immediately calls the coordinator and asks him to
train her.
